I am an educational consultant, teacher and writer.

This last year has been incredibly exciting. Not only have I had my first children fiction ‘Yun and the Dragon King’ series published in the Pearson Bug Club series but I have worked with two of my absolute heroes Pie Corbett on Stories for Writing for OUP and Ruth Miskin on Comprehension Plus and Get Writing for Oxford University Press as well.

Other exciting publishing that I have been involved with include further titles for Floppies Phonics and consultancy and phonics writing for the upcoming Floppy’s Phonics programme devised by Debbie Hepplewhite.

I have had the chance to devise, write and publish a programme close to my own heart called Phonics to Spelling for LCP, which was devised entirely with Key Stage 2 children in mind, it has interactive content and covers all the areas that many of my pupils have floundered with, in a fun dynamic way (I hope). So far the feedback has been excellent and soon there will be a video of it in action and being used by children on the LCP website.

At the end of the year I finally gave up my Special Needs teaching job at Hurst College so that I could concentrate on being a Trainer for Ruth Miskin. I am delighted to be back working with teachers and schools and delivering such a fantastic and important programme across the country. I also hope to continue writing teacher resources and fiction for children.

Finally, I have with the School of Life and my wondrous colleague Ella Bertoud travelled the country doing workshops for the The School Of Life  at Latitude, Hurstpierpoint festival and Oxted Library. Do get in touch if you feel the need for a little biblio-madness! 

I have also written for Guardian Evaluate, the Literacy Coordinator's File, Channel 4 That'll Teach 'em, Oxfam, Edexcel Scholastic, Cambridge University Press and Primary English Magazine.
